ARCHITECTURE AND ENGINEERING CHALLENGES

(AGES 9-12)

 Develop science, technology, engineering and mathematics skills in a fun, hands-on environment. You will work to design and build towers, balsa bridges and a wide array of Lego and K’nex™ architecture projects.  Have fun building famous architectural designs from around the world including Adam Tucker Reed’s famous brick structures including the Empire State Building, Imperial Hotel, Whitehouse, Imperial Hotel, Flat Iron Building, Seattle Space Needle, and more. You will also build bridges, towers, and other structures using a variety of materials and learn about structural engineering principles and forces that act on structures.  Tuition & fees: $165.

BRIXOLOGY

(AGES 6-10)

Our LEGO™ BRIXOLOGY camp was developed in partnership with LEGO™ Master Builders!  Team up to build exclusive creations that will test your engineering abilities!  Build carnival rides, drawing machines, mechanical animals, truss bridges and space stations. Try your hand at aerospace, nautical, biomechanical, and even structural engineering!  Let the tinkering begin! Tuition & fees: $205.

CHEMICAL WIZARDRY

(AGES 6-12)
Get ready for a fun-filled “magical” laboratory experience Harry Potter ™style. Enjoy making Flubber, Silly Putty™, Super Hi- Bounce balls, and more. Have fun making light inside of a glow bottle, a mushroom monster, play dough, Glowing Goo, and even a tye-dye style shirt. We will create atomic worm polymers and lava lamp-like blobs. We will also demonstrate the Big Bang Cannon, diet Coke and Mentos Geyser, Magic Genie in the bottle, and more. All campers will take home a mini-chemistry kit & recipe booklet. Please bring a 100% white cotton T- shirt to the second class. Tuition & fees: $205.

DIGGIN’ FOR DINOSAURS, ROCKIN’ ROCKS, & CRYSTAL CREATIONS

(AGES 6-10)
Young scientists will discover the exciting science of archaeology and paleontology as they excavate and assemble complete skeletal replicas from simulated “fossilized” rock. Dig for T-Rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Velociraptors, Brachiosaurus, and more! Make fossilized plaster replicas of dinosaur teeth, claws, trilobites, and ancient sea creatures. Sort, classify, and take home a variety of fossilized shark teeth. Unearth some fascinating facts about rocks, minerals, and crystals. Break open geodes and discover crystals inside. Take home a unique mini-collection of rocks and minerals that you will learn about in the program, a rock and mineral book, unearthed treasures, fossilized shark teeth, and more. Tuition & fees: $205.

Drones & Flying Physics

(AGES 9-13)
Take to the skies with mini drones, quadcopters, and more! Housing a thrilling, hands-on aerial robotics platform, this camp is the perfect introduction to the world of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In this camp, safety is a priority as students learn to fly in first-person view (FPV), exploring the real-world applications of drones. Students go through Droneology, the online drone education platform, master basic piloting skills, construct an obstacle course to fly through and stage a final race to showcase their cumulative knowledge. Putting critical thinking to the test, campers will brainstorm ways drones could be used for good, sketching out their ideas for new and innovative drones and drone uses. Campers will also experiment with paper planes, flying gadgets, rockets, balloon cars, and much more.All students will take home their own mini-drone balloon car and flying gadgets made in class. Tuition & fees: $205.

GEAR & PULLEY EXPLORATIONS

(AGES 6-10)

 Gear up for some amazing science fun! What happens when gears are connected? Do they rotate together, at the same speed, or in the same direction? Does it even matter how they touch each other? Discover these answers, and more, with this class. Build, tinker, and create amazing gadgets. Conquer different levels of challenges and have fun learning! Projects include gear and pulley driven cars, a wind turbine, hydraulic claw-projects that YOU invent. Campers will use tools to measure, cut, sand, and experiment with and also use household materials, plastic gears, wheels, K’nex kits, Legos, Robotix and more for their projects. All campers take home a mini wind turbine and robotic hand contraption made in class. Tuition & fees: $205.

EUREKA: FLIGHT TO THE FUTURE

(AGES 7-12)

Bring your imagination & let it SOAR as you create a squadron of paper airplanes the Wright brothers would be proud of! Explore technological advances in flight: hot air balloons, flying machines, stomp rockets, & spacecraft. Become inspired by Verne and Asimov! All campers will build and take home their own sci-fi inspired light sabers! Tuition & Fees: $205

EUREKA: LAUNCHING WITH LEGENDS

(AGES 7-12)

Anyone can be an inventor! Discover the work of da Vinci, Edison, Tesla, and Benjamin Franklin and use what you learn to invent solutions to everyday problems. You’ll prepare patent proposals, receive a patent certificate, build your own catapult, and even launch projectiles off a large trebuchet!  You’ll bring home countless cool inventions! Tuition & Fees: $205

INTRODUCTION TO LEGO EV3 ROBOTICS 

(AGES 9-13)

 Have fun building, designing, and programming robots.  Build robot projects and creations that use working sensors and motors. LEGO MINDSTORMS™ combines the unlimited versatility of the LEGO building system with an intelligent microcomputer brick and intuitive drag-and-drop programming software. No prior robotic or programming experience is necessary for this introductory course. All students will take home a Hexbug robot as part of this program. Tuition & fees: $205.

(AGES 6-13)

Learn how birds and beasts catch their prey! Flow through the food chain and discover how animals and insects adapt to life on our planet. Explore how a change in the wind, water, and temperature affects all of Earth’s inhabitants. Build wooden birdhouses, dissect owl pellets and learn how animals navigate the world using scent trails. Campers will also build a bug house to observe critters and identify animals by making plaster animal tracks. Tuition & Fees: $205.

JUNIOR PHYSICIANS’ ACADEMY 

(AGES 9-13)

 Children will have hands-on fun as they learn about scientific equipment that is near and dear to them- the human body! Campers will explore the science behind cells, organs, muscles, and bones as they navigate through the systems that make up our astonishing anatomy. Micro-slide viewers will aid in catching a glimpse of the tiny cellular machines that our bodies need to function. Interactive experiments will develop a further understanding of our organ systems, including our nervous, respiratory, circulatory, and digestive systems. Children will construct model cells, make “ Mad Mucus", build stethoscopes and lung models, and work together to assemble a model skeleton for an entertaining and educational week of camp! Is there a Doctor in the House? Tuition & fees: $205.

LEGO® WeDo ROBOTICS 

(AGES 6-10) 

Students will build Lego ® models featuring working motors and sensors, program their models on laptop computers, and participate in new unique WeDo challenges. Students will develop their STEAM skills. We will use simple drag and drop software and a lap top computer to actually learn how to program robots made from Legos®. This program makes elementary science come to life through hands-on tasks, real-world projects, and relevant technology that engages students. This year features some of the more unique projects offered by the First Lego League as an added bonus! All campers will take home a non-motorized Lego Technic model. Tuition & fees: $205.

NASA: JOURNEY INTO OUTERSPACE

(AGES   9-13)

Take a voyage of discovery into the atmosphere and beyond as we explore planets, moons, and other space phenomena. Create a comet and build your own Mad Science rocket and participate in a real NASA-style rocket launch!  Campers will take home additional NASA activities to complete at home!  Mad Science is the ONLY organization licensed by NASA to use these activities for Summer Camps! (AGES 9-14)

Spring into a medley of scientific subjects and learn about the Earth and its animal inhabitants, simple machines, rocketry, flight, and chemical reactions; there’s something for everyone! Build and race a car, construct a rocket, create animal tracks, build a bug house, and grow your very own crystal gardens to take home! There’s so much in store; it’s simply Sensational! MINI-ROBOTICS: SPHERO, OZOBOT & BRISTLEBOTS 

(AGES 6-13)

 Have fun experimenting with mini-robots! Coding, robotics, art, STEAM, and computer science will come alive with tiny, programmable mini-robots. Learn to use Sphero mini app drive in different modes, program with Javascript, or use as a controller to play games. With Ozobot, there is no end to the possibilities, as you create a different landscape of adventures, play games and color code with markers and “ Ozoblocky,” a coding language powered by Google’s Blocky program. Have fun using toothbrush motor and vibration technology to build and take home your own “Bristlebot”! Tuition & fees: $205.

ROBOTIC FUN

(AGES 9-13)
Have fun building and creating using your imagination. Campers will construct a wide range of robot projects throughout the week.  Projects will include constructing a Battle-Bot from our huge Robotix modular collection, participating in our robot tug-o’ war, Olympic competition, soccer match, and more.  Campers will learn engineering principles in a fun, hands-on atmosphere.  ( This camp focuses on building modular robots from your imagination. Coding is not a focus in this class).  All students will take home a Hexbug robot as part of this camp.  Tuition & fees: $205.

SECRET AGENT LAB: FUNKY FORENSICS

(AGES 9-14)

Focus on the science of forensics in this hands-on look at crime scenes. Identify and collect evidence, from fingerprints to tracks to trash! Recreate the scene of a crime using clues and detailed observations. Campers will use science to connect the dots and help sniff out the suspects in this hands-on investigation into the science of sleuthing. Tuition and fees: $205.

(AGES 6-10)

 Have fun using conductive and insulating play dough to learn about the basics of electric circuits! With Squishy Circuits, you will get to use unique electronic components to solve problems, engineer solutions, and inspire your creativity and thinking. Build creative gadgets with buzzers, motors, LEDs, and more! This program will also feature inventions with LittleBits, Snap Circuits, and more. All campers will take home a unique circuit alarm designed/ built-in class. Tuition & fees: $205.

SUPER SCIENCE MAKE & TAKE

(AGES 6-10)

Discover the excitement of science and make a variety of toys designed to illustrate science concepts that make learning fun. Most of the projects can be taken home as they are made throughout the week. Make your own working telescope as you learn about optics and light. Construct an electro-magnet and a working electric motor. Build an adjustable, ball-launching catapult that changes the trajectory of a flinging projectile . Create a working model of Hero of Alexandria’s fountain or a vortex tornado in a bottle. Make ultra-violet bead bracelets, a working compass, submarine divers, and more. Projects will vary by age level and instructions will be taught in more depth for older students. Tuition & fees: $205.

(AGES 6-10) 

In this engineering camp, you will have fun integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics by building and designing a wide range of gadgets, inventive machines, towers, crazy contraptions, and more. Projects included are the Great Tower Challenge, the Standing Cup Pyramid Challenge, scratch coding challenges, Wooden Coaster Challenge, Structural Engineering Challenge, Magnificent Marble Machine, and a host of other fun contests designed to bring out the engineer in you! Campers will take home several of the projects built in class. Tuition & fees: $205.

(AGES 6-10)

Dive into a variety of scientific fields as you mix and stretch silly putty and slime, copperplate nickels, and investigate the mysteries of optical illusions. Become captivated by lasers, dry ice, watch hair-raising Van de Graaff experiments, help solve a mystery, and so much more!
