AMUSEMENT PARK PHYSICS
(AGES 9-13)

Ever wonder how they design and build those crazy rollercoasters and other amusement park rides? Join us and learn about friction, gravity, momentum, velocity, and other effects of force and motion as they relate to theme park rides. We’ll design, construct, and test loop-the-loops, marble catchers, ball machines, Ferris wheels, swinging amusement rides, and more. This is the way to experiment and build as you learn physics concepts in a fun and activity-based atmosphere! Tuition & fees: $175.

BATTLE-BOTS & ROBOTIC FUN
(AGES 6-13)


Have fun building and creating using your imagination. Campers will construct a wide range of robot projects throughout the week. Projects will include constructing a Battle-Bot from our huge Robotix™ modular collection, participating in our robot tug-o’ war, Olympic competition, soccer match, and more. Campers will learn engineering principles in a fun, handson atmosphere.
This camp focuses on building modular robots from your imagination. Coding is not a focus in this class. All campers will take home a Hexbug robot. Tuition & fees: $175.

CHEMICAL WIZARDRY
(AGES 6-10)

Get ready for a fun-filled “magical” laboratory experience Harry Potter™ style. Enjoy making
Flubber, Silly Putty, Super Hi-Bounce balls,
and more. Have fun making light inside of a glow bottle, a mushroom monster, play dough, Glowing Goo, and even a tye-dye style shirt. We will create atomic worm polymers and lava lamp-like blobs. We will also demonstrate the Big Bang Cannon, diet Coke and Mentos Geyser, Magic Genie in the bottle, and more. Learning concepts include atoms and bonding, physical and chemical changes, acids/bases, and more.
All campers will take home projects made in class, a mini-chemistry kit & recipe booklet. Please bring
a 100% white cotton T- shirt to the second class.

DRONES & FLYING PHYSICS
(AGES 9-13)

Take to the skies with mini drones, quadcopters, and more! Housing a thrilling, hands-on aerial robotics platform, this camp is the perfect introduction to the world of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In this camp, safety is a priority as students learn to fly in first-person view (FPV), exploring the real-world applications of drones. Students go through Droneology, the online drone education platform, master basic piloting skills, construct an obstacle course to fly through and stage a final race to showcase their cumulative knowledge. Putting critical thinking to the test, campers will brainstorm ways drones could be used for good, sketching out their ideas for new and innovative drones and drone uses. Campers will also experiment with paper planes, flying gadgets, rockets, balloon cars, and much more.
All students will take home their own mini-drone
balloon car and flying gadgets made in class.

GEAR & PULLEY EXPLORATIONS
(AGES 6-10)


Gear up for some amazing science fun! What happens when gears are connected? Do they rotate together, at the same speed, or in the same direction? Does it even matter how they touch each other? Discover these answers, and more, with this class. Build, tinker, and create amazing gadgets. Conquer different levels of challenges and have fun learning! Projects include gear and pulley driven cars, a wind turbine, hydraulic claw-projects that YOU invent. Campers will use tools to measure, cut, sand, and experiment with and also use household materials, plastic gears, wheels, K’nex kits, Legos, Robotix and more for their projects. All campers take home a mini wind turbine and robotic hand contraption made in class. Tuition & fees: $175.

GRAVITRAX SCIENCE
(AGES 9-13)


With the GraviTrax interactive track system, campers can design and build their own marble runs and experiment with gravity, magnetism and kinetics to propel their marble to the finish. With a variety of tiles, levels, tracks and elements, campers can control the speed of the marble and complexity of the contraption. The open-ended building concept offers endless possibilities to design a unique track. Campers can add flair and speed to their tracks with the volcano, the lifter, tip tube, trampoline, and more expansion action accessories. INTRODUCTION TO LEGO EV3 ROBOTICS
(AGES 9-13)


Have fun building, designing, and programming robots with Lego Mindstorms. Build robot projects and creations that use working sensors and motors. LEGO MINDSTORMS combines the unlimited versatility of the LEGO building system with an intelligent microcomputer brick and intuitive drag-and-drop programming software. No prior robotic or programming experience is necessary for this introductory course. All students will take home a Hexbug robot as part of this program.

JUNIOR PHYSICIANS’ ACADEMY
(AGES 9-13)


In this weeklong camp, children will have hands-on fun as they learn about scientific equipment that is near and dear to them- the human body! Campers will explore the science behind cells, organs, muscles, and bones as they navigate through the systems that make up our astonishing anatomy. Microslide viewers will aid in catching a glimpse of the tiny cellular machines that our bodies need to function. Interactive experiments will develop a further understanding of our organ systems, including our nervous, respiratory, circulatory, and digestive systems. Children will construct model cells, make “Mad Mucus", build stethoscopes and lung models, and work together to assemble a model skeleton for an entertaining and educational week of camp! LEGO® WeDo ROBOTICS
(AGES 6-10)


Students will build Lego ® models featuring working motors and sensors, program their models on laptop computers, and participate in new unique WeDo challenges. Students will develop their skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Students will use simple drag and drop software and a lap top computer to actually learn how to program robots made from Legos®. This program makes elementary science come to life through hands-on tasks, real-world projects, and relevant technology that engages students. This year features some of the more unique projects offered by the First Lego League as an added bonus! All campers will take home a non-motorized Lego Technic model. Tuition & fees: $175

MINI-ROBOTICS: SPHERO, OZOBOT & BRISTLEBOTS
(AGES 6-13)


Have fun experimenting with mini-robots! Coding, robotics, art, STEAM, and computer science will come alive with tiny, programmable mini-robots. Learn to use Sphero mini app drive in different modes, program with Javascript, or use as a controller to play games. With Ozobot, there is no end to the possibilities, as you create a different landscape of adventures, play games and color code with markers and “ Ozoblocky,” a coding language powered by Google’s Blocky program. Have fun using toothbrush motor and vibration technology to build and take home your own “Bristlebot”! Tuition & fees: $175.

NASA: JOURNEY INTO OUTER SPACE
(AGES 9-13)


Mad Science has teamed up with NASA in a quest for exploration! We’ll take a voyage of discovery into the atmosphere and beyond as we explore planets, moons, and other space phenomena in our solar system. Things will heat up as we examine the sun and other stars and discover the difficulties of space travel! Kids will get a firsthand experience of the challenges of living in space as they try to assemble a satellite while training to be an astronaut. Kids will love to build their own Mad Science rocket, and participate in a real “NASA” style rocket launch. Campers will have lots of projects to make and many cool NASA take-homes, including a gravity assisted launcher, a Shuttle Copter, and more! Mad Science is the ONLY organization licensed by NASA to use these activities for Summer Camps. This Camp is Out of this World. Tuition & fees: $175.

Focus on the science of forensics in this hands-on look at crime scenes. Identify and collect evidence, from fingerprints to tracks to trash! Recreate the scene of a crime using clues and detailed observations. Campers will use science to connect the dots and help sniff out the suspects in this hands-on investigation into the science of sleuthing. Tuition and fees: $175.

Step into the shoes of a detective—uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis. Become a super sleuth and learn clever ways of performing tasks in this hands-on view of the science that spies use. From decoding messages to metal detectors and night vision, campers will have the opportunity to check out spy equipment, and discover the technological tools of detection! Tuition and fees: $140.

This program will explore the science, technology, engineering and mathematics related to popular sports. Students will incorporate their love of sports with lessons related to force, momentum, energy, and a wealth of other topics. Through a popular project-based curriculum, students will learn how to shoot and aim a basketball or kick a soccer ball, while also discovering the science behind each move. Students will work with basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, and more. Additionally, students will have fun designing and inventing their own Q-Tip archery shooter, baseball or gymnastics safety equipment, indoor simulated luge track and more. Tuition & fees: $175.

SUPER SCIENCE MAKE & TAKE
(AGES 6-10)


Discover the excitement of science and make a variety of toys designed to illustrate science con¬cepts that make learning fun. Most of the projects can be taken home as they are made throughout the week. Make your own working telescope as you learn about optics and light. Construct an electro-magnet and a working electric motor. Build an adjustable, ball-launching catapult that changes the trajectory of a flinging projectile. Create a working model of Hero of Alexandria’s fountain or a vortex tornado in a bottle. Make ultra-violet bead bracelets, a working compass, submarine divers, and more. Projects will vary by age level and instructions will be taught in more depth for older students. Tuition & fees: $175.

Projects included are the Great Tower Challenge, the Standing Cup Pyramid Challenge, scratch coding challenges, Wooden Coaster Challenge, Structural Engineering Challenge, Magnificent Marble Machine, and a host of other fun contests designed to bring out the engineer in you! With Squishy Circuits, you will get to use unique electronic components to solve problems, engineer solutions and inspire your creativity and thinking. Build creative gadgets with buzzers, motors, LEDs, and more! This program will also feature inventions with LittleBits, Snap Circuits and more.
